The Strength of Song and Dance: Tyrone "Dancing Wolf" Ellise of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation In-Person
“The Strength of Song and Dance” will feature evocative music and rhythmic movements traditional to the Lenape and Nanticoke tribes, and modern to all indigenous people.
The Ellis-Gould family of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribe, and Lenapehoking Reestablishment Project, will be exhibiting some of these dance styles, educating the public on a variety of art forms, and speaking on how some untold histories of Indigenous people have directly impacted how Lenape people live today."
This program was funded by a grant from the New Jersey State Library’s REV 250: Examining the Semiquincentennial through a Jersey Lens — an opportunity for public libraries to celebrate New Jersey’s contributions and place in history.
