DESCRIPTION:Ferry boats played a crucial role in Washington’s December 
 1776 Crossing\, which occurred just south of Lambertville. Local expert 
 Stan Saperstein will share a presentation on the 1776 Delaware River ferry 
 boat operations\, including Coryell’s Ferry (Lambertville)\, while 
 dressed in ferryman’s garb of the era. He’ll discuss the local 
 ferries’ economic impact\, how they affected private businesses and their 
 military use. He’ll also provide a look at the technical operations and 
 different styles of ferry boats.\n\n \n\nStanley D. Saperstein is a master 
 micro-historian who specializes in important but little-known histories. He 
 brings these stories to life through living history first-person 
 impressions\, portraying a variety of historical people from the Revolution 
 and the Civil War. Stan is also a master wood-worker and owner of Artisans 
 of the Valley\, which creates museum quality period reproductions & 
 original designs. He is a published author and teaches advanced learning 
 history courses for seniors. \n\n \n\n
